NVDA stands for Non-Visual Desktop Access. It is a free Screen Reader for blind and vision impaired people. Used with MathPlayer 4 beta it can read equations aloud and provide Braille (Electronic) in Word (Structured; MathType), Internet Explorer and Firefox.

MathType is required for NVDA to work with Microsoft Word.

Installation

To install NVDA:

  • First install MathPlayer and MathType
  • Then Download NVDA and run the file. NVDA will self voice the installation process. You can watch and listen to the process in the video below. The only sound in the video is that generated by NVDA.
